Wedding Event Planner QuickBooks Cleanup Who reads the file

Steven Palmieri, a Tax CFO, reads the customers, the hold, and the vendor totals with the owner.

The person on the call

Steven Palmieri reads planner files as a Tax CFO, and also as the Entrepreneur's CFO. What you get is a cleaned event ledger, payroll stood up on a provider you operate, the bank tied, statements you can read by date, and the return for the year you are in. Each date needs its own customer. Money the couple can still take back is not a fee yet. People you pay need a total before January.

The calls are video or phone. The books are shared. The close lands in the same month whether the shop and the venue are in different states. The wedding does not have to be near us. The file, the contracts, and a calendar do.

QuickBooks is a mark of Intuit. We are not Intuit, and this site is not an Intuit product. The company file you already pay Intuit for is the one we open. A later request for an audited statement leaves this practice. That limit is written on the disclosures page, and the first call says it out loud.

What we ask you to bring

Bring the events that still share a customer, one contract that shows the hold, and the year that is already filed. If vendor payments have been entered as ordinary checks with no name, say that too. We would rather start the total now than reconstruct it in the week the forms are due.

You will hear, on that call, whether the open year can carry the cleanup. You will also hear if waiting is the better move. A free call creates no engagement. Nothing is billed until you and this practice have both signed a page that names the events in scope and the price. Before that signature, these pages stay general information and are not a review of your return.

Payroll comes up when a lead coordinator is being paid like a vendor and the relationship is really employment. The setup is done on a provider you then operate yourself. Paychecks are not run from this practice, and last year's payroll filings are not quietly rebuilt to shorten a vendor list.

How a month ends

The bank is tied. The customer list matches the dates still ahead. Holds that the contract says are refundable are not sitting in income. Vendor reports can be totaled without adding the couple's money. Sales tax payable contains only the tax the planner actually owes, not a room tax the hotel already collected.

That month becomes the pattern. The next one should look like it without a special project. If a filed year is sitting open in the software, we close the books for that year in the file and stop. Editing it is not part of the monthly work.

The customer rule is on one customer per event. The hold rule is on the deposit page. A time can be picked on the calendar.
